Claritin® is on a mission to get kids outside...

Spending time outside is essential to children’s physical and mental well-being. However, kids today think the outside is boring. They spend less than 8 minutes playing outside each day yet spend 7.5 hours on average a day inside.

The makers of Claritin® are committed to helping get kids outside one more hour a week. With the launch of The Outsideologist Project, Claritin® is providing parents and kids with fun and exciting adventures to help make the outside the "unboring-est place to be".

Outsideologist Activities

Along with our experts in outside play, Claritin® has developed various adventure activities, nature craft ideas, and imagination games that you can re-create right outside your door.

We believe all kids should be able to play outside, that’s why we are committed to provide access to better outdoor spaces in underserved communities.

Since 2016, Claritin® has contributed over $1MM to develop play spaces with organizations such as Boys & Girls Club and Project for Public Spaces.

How To Make A Sundial

With this activity you’ll have the best TIME outside. Learn how to make a sundial by following these easy steps:

  1. Go on a fun scavenger hunt for a stick and 12 smooth pebbles, then get creative by drawing or painting numbers on each one.
  2. Find a sunny spot and plant your stick at the top of the hour (like 10AM). Place a pebble wherever the shadow ends. Come back in an hour, and you'll see that the shadow has moved. That's where your next pebble will go.
  3. Place the rest of the pebbles keeping the same distance between them, and tah dah! Telling time becomes the funnest time!

How To Make A Grass Whistle

Love how birds sing? Whistle back at them! Here’s a quick tutorial for how you can teach your kid how to make a grass-whistle.

  1. Take your kid to to your favorite patch and pick the longest and widest blade of grass that you can find.
  2. Have them pinch the grass between their thumbs, leaving a gap in the middle.
  3. Blow through the opening. As the grass vibrates, it'll make a fun sound!

It takes a bit of practice, but don't give up!
